YWK Highschool Tutoring exists to support high school students through tailored, individually-driven tutoring that builds confidence as much as academic skill.

We work with students across Years 7–12, meeting them where they are at and helping them develop:

  • Strong subject understanding

  • Effective study habits

  • Confidence in the classroom and beyond

Our approach is calm, structured, and tailored – no one-size-fits-all tutoring.

About YWK Highschool Tutoring

Our Philosophy & Approach

At YWK, we believe:

  • Every student learns differently

  • Progress happens best in safe, encouraging environments

  • Confidence and clarity unlock academic growth

What to expect after Enrolment

When students are enrolled with YWK, they are paired with a tutor depending on availability, needs, and areas of improvement. You know your child best, so we encourage all parents to let us know any preferences they may have over a tutor to suit their child, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

We believe in a tailored approach that differs from “one-size-fits-all” classrooms at school. We aim to bring out the confidence, strengths, and talents of each student through their time with us.

Once paired with a tutor and given a weekly (or otherwise discussed) schedule, our admin team will be in contact for our administrative and financial tasks. We host many flexible options for differing budgets and schedules, so please feel free to reach out to discuss options with our team.

An enrolment contract will also be given to parents after enrolment which covers expectations such as the respect of staff and payments.

What to expect from our Tutoring Sessions

No student learns the same, so we aim to tailor our approach depending on your child’s needs. A typical session may include the following:

  • Review of recent school content

  • Targeted instruction or skill-building

  • Support with homework or upcoming assessments

  • Study strategies and organisation support

  • Focus on participation, not pressure

Not every session will look the same, dependent on current topics and workload, but we aim to cover many areas of improvement.

Your child should bring to tutoring sessions what they would bring to a classroom at school. Depending on the subject, this could include:

  • Textbooks

  • Workbooks

  • Homework sheets

  • Calculators

  • Pens

  • Device

What this looks like in practice:

  • Small group or individualised learning

  • Tutors who build strong rapport with students

  • Lessons that adapt to school content, assessment schedules, and individual learning needs
